Synopsis

The chapter opens with an errand boy captured for causing a scene in a brothel. He's threatened with being buried alive unless he can provide a reason to live. Instead of fear, the errand boy uses his wit, exposing the criminals and convincing them to leave. He reveals that he was only feigning weakness and was actually observing the situation, further demonstrating his cunning. He also manages to manipulate his captors into buying him snacks and subtly directs the narrative, showing his proactive nature.
