Synopsis

Brian is preparing for a banquet where he intends to assassinate a rapist noble. He is also concerned about a young, powerful mage, Lunav Rainreaver, and Nana, a child with unusual abilities who needs to be protected. During the banquet, a dramatic confrontation ensues with the Duchess, whom he exposes as having tried to assassinate Cyan. The Duke, however, seems indifferent to the attempted murder of his son, revealing a cold and detached personality. Brian decides to take Cyan's place at an important function.
