The chapter begins with the aftermath of a previous conflict, showing the mercenaries surprisingly loyal to the Young Lord. A group of mercenaries led by Gordon, decide to negotiate with their new employer, the Young Lord of Peridium. Gordon attempts to intimidate the Young Lord to ensure favorable terms, but he's surprised by the Young Lord's casual authority and the revelation that the mercenaries are following him willingly, resulting in Gordon being commanded by the Young Lord.
The Young Lord has surprisingly gained the loyalty of the unruly mercenaries, and now Gordon, the self-proclaimed representative, attempts to intimidate the Young Lord but is immediately recognized as a subordinate instead.
