Synopsis

The chapter begins with an explanation of how high-ranked items are actually relics from an ancient empire. Marnak, the "Demon Slaughterer," is then introduced, and he meets Karman Valtus, who hires him for a job involving exploring ruins for relics. The chapter further introduces Karman's team, including a mage and a member of the Unihorn tribe. They travel to the ruins, share personal stories, and Marnak eventually accepts the task after hearing more details about it, particularly the reward of potentially receiving one of the discovered relics.
