The chapter opens with the king being controlled by Greed, where he is boasting about his wealth and power. The king then manages to break free from Greed's mind control, expressing remorse for his actions and the sacrifices of his soldiers, realizing his palace has fallen. As the king and other characters battle, a new entity emerges from the remnants of the Cardinal Sin. The chapter then provides a flashback revealing the king's motive for his greed: betrayal by a neighboring kingdom which was offered hospitality then later attacked them, which lead to the king’s desire to obtain treasures and protect his land.
The king, initially controlled by the sin of Greed, breaks free and confronts his past actions, while another powerful entity emerges from the Cardinal Sin's remains.
