Synopsis

The chapter opens with the protagonist, Kaoli, seemingly wanting to use a workshop for engineering purposes, showing his basic knowledge in the field. Later, news spreads of the Emperor's assassination, and Kaoli is swiftly arrested as the prime suspect, despite protesting his innocence. He faces a rigged trial where evidence is fabricated against him. He manages to delay the verdict by claiming to have a witness, putting his life on the line.
