Synopsis

The chapter opens with reflections on death and apology, then shifts to a formal meeting where Sullivan, a representative of the Pallan Empire, and the protagonist discuss a potential alliance. The Pallan Empire initially offers neutrality but then proposes a full alliance, motivated by the threat of the elves and the history between them and the protagonist, and it's discovered that this was influenced by Princess Elena's words. However, the protagonist refuses a contractual obligation and hints at his concern about the Pallan Empire betraying their alliance.
