Synopsis

The chapter opens with a discussion of the protagonist's curse and the faction seeking his resurrection. Later, an elf reveals she is disguising herself as a man and requests the protagonist's help in investigating a forest corrupted by undead, seeking proof of a saint's betrayal. The protagonist reflects on a recent attack by corrupted elves, burying them despite opposition, and acknowledges that a potential love interest has left for a neighboring empire. He considers the possibility of being resurrected and his changing views on who he might find attractive.
