Synopsis

The chapter begins with the protagonist arriving at a sacred tree, discovering it's infected by a vitality-draining force. Through questioning, he learns about recent elf disappearances and that the elves have been burning the bodies of the victims. After using a spirit to temporarily halt the infection's spread, he starts befriending some elf children, who show him a treasure that hints at more connections to a past event. He's also seen by some of the elves as a person of trust due to his warm scent.
