Synopsis

The chapter opens with the protagonist being sought out because his aunt, Yue Lan, collapsed after a fight and her prayer beads broke, possibly causing her condition. These beads, given by an enlightened expert, were believed to protect her from the pain of leaving behind her family. The protagonist's father calls, feeling uneasy, and reveals the protagonist's birth name to be Luo Yang Xu. The protagonist realizes Yue Lan’s situation is grave and rushes to her aid, but is confronted by the Shi family.
