Synopsis

The chapter begins with a powerful, unnamed figure demanding obedience and seemingly about to harm a captured woman. The focus then shifts to a series of phone calls. A son is pressured by family to return home for the New Year, revealing a history of neglecting family obligations and a family tragedy. The son is finally alerted by an aunt that his mother is seriously ill, prompting him to panic while remembering a prior business commitment.
