Synopsis

Goldie, the protagonist's companion, evolves after absorbing genetic cores from slain zombies, reaching a new power level. However, this evolution attracts the remaining zombies and makes Goldie vulnerable, forcing the protagonist to protect him while grappling with their own mental and physical exhaustion. Despite feeling the strain, the residents of the shelter return to provide support, arming the protagonist for the continuing fight. Suddenly, the chapter ends with the revelation that Commander Guan has left via helicopter with a cache of powerful weapons, leaving everyone confused and concerned.
