Synopsis

Janica is shown to be manipulative, using a timid facade to gauge others' protectiveness, but her intentions are still unclear. Ed is recovering from exhaustion and receives letters that foreshadow future challenges. Lortelle proposes a co-executive role in her trading company to Ed, revealing her deep trust and need for a constant and loyal companion, stemming from her past experiences. The chapter also revisits the past plot of Professor Glast and his motives, suggesting the final battle of the story is imminent.
