Synopsis

This chapter focuses on Mord's interactions with the Shadow Wolf Squad, who were sent to escort him to the North, but also want to impose their authority over him. Mord refuses to be controlled, asserting his freedom and making it clear he won't subordinate himself. He also reflects on Erna's safety and the potential danger of revealing their secrets. A confrontation is brewing as Lowen attempts to force Mord to cooperate.
