Synopsis

The chapter begins with the sudden massacre of ground-floor prisoners by an unknown figure, who is later identified as a hero of Equality. The hero offers the remaining prisoners a grim ultimatum: surrender and await execution or fight and die immediately. Despite the overwhelming odds, the prisoners, united under a unique leader who can empower others with his shouts, choose to resist, believing their numbers give them an advantage and plan to break out. The chapter reveals the Ruculus prison's structured threat-level system, with the most dangerous criminals residing on the lowest floors. The hero is revealed to be hunting for one prisoner in particular, Seungwhan Hwang, which makes his actions have greater significance.
