Synopsis

The chapter introduces a world where magical talent is determined at birth, leaving many without opportunities. A controversial medicine, 'Apophis', is being developed to address this, but it carries severe side effects. Ann is invited to a special class by Professor Sophia, where she is unknowingly being used as a test subject. Elsewhere, another professor suspects that the students taking Apophis are being exploited, and decides to have his new disciples investigate further.
