Synopsis

The chapter begins with a flashback to past tensions and a challenge, before a significant time skip of three years. We learn that Beyeril, once seemingly a potential suitor, has transformed into a formidable swordmaster seeking revenge. Meanwhile, Jamie's parents are now married with children and are discussing Jamie's curiosity about their past, while also revealing Jamie and Sears (formerly a tomboy) are reunited and their connection to the Archbishop. The chapter ends with the group approaching the dangerous Mirineh Forest, despite warnings.
