The chapter reveals that Rusted and Pietro are excluded from the next championship game to force the others to grow and rely less on superhumans. Meanwhile, Rusted successfully creates an antidote to the poison he received but he still wants more power. Rusted decides to drink a large amount of poison, knowing his immortality will keep him alive, in order to trigger a new ability, forcing his teammate to use his abilities to slow his death and give him a greater tolerance to the poison.
The team is moving on to the next round of the championships without Rusted and Pietro, as the coach wants them to learn to fight without relying on the superhumans. Rusted pushes himself to the brink by drinking poison to gain new powers, with the help of a teammate.
