Synopsis

The chapter opens with a train abruptly stopping, causing confusion among the passengers. A young girl is discovered outside, knocking at the door and seeking help. This leads to a disagreement; some passengers believe they must obey a previously given order not to open the door, while others argue for letting the girl in, culminating in a train attendant opening the door for her. The chapter ends with the girl being identified as a 'future superhuman' and some passengers lamenting their own lack of talent.
