Synopsis

The chapter depicts a caravan of merchants and mercenaries being attacked by mounted barbarians from beyond the northern borders. The barbarians, exceptionally skilled riders, demand all the merchants' possessions except their lives, prompting the merchants to agree. However, a knight appears, seemingly unfazed by the barbarians' aura and causing the horses to panic, disrupting the initial plan of the merchants and mercenaries to buy time with their resources. The chapter concludes with the knight confronting the barbarians, and the merchants questioning his presence.
