Synopsis

The chapter opens with a flashback where a knight is questioned about disobeying orders. We then see a former knight who is being challenged by someone he previously helped, who calls him out on a past unfair deal, and he violently takes a sword as compensation. The scene shifts to news of a count's death and the subsequent rise of a new count, who gives his first order: the immediate return of a 'deserter' knight, Jorge. This is followed by characters responding to the new count's command.
