Synopsis

The chapter opens with a group of 'derelicts' being forcibly taken to a facility, despite one man's pleas about his newborn daughter. They are told they'll be used for work, implying a forced labor situation. While the group is being herded, one escapes and a manhunt ensues. Later, priests and their guards inspect the facility, where they discover the derelicts are refining magic stones, which is usually a task for mages. The facility manager reveals a hidden technique of the Vior family allows them to do this.
