Synopsis

The chapter opens with a conversation between a former mercenary and a noble, where the mercenary reveals his initial plan to seek repayment for investing in the noble's sister. He admits to changing his goals after investigating the noble's difficult past. A spar is then initiated, with the former mercenary, using his mana barrier, clearly demonstrating a superior skill. The noble loses the duel and the use of his right hand. He is further humiliated by being forced to publicly acknowledge his lack of honor. The chapter ends with the noble vowing to get revenge, but also acknowledges he needs to heal for a rematch.
