Synopsis

The protagonist reflects on his week-long fast, realizing it wasn't true starvation. He visualizes a starving farmer's relentless work and the lengths they go to in desperate times. He understands that starvation isn't merely the absence of food, but the constant, agonizing desire for it while being unable to satisfy it. The protagonist then decides to use his understanding of "starvation" to strengthen his martial arts and get a better reaction from the Heavenly Demon by gathering corpses that died of starvation to study their actions.
