Synopsis

The chapter begins by describing the avarice of nations after a great war, specifically highlighting how the Galadin would betray those they allied with. Duke Jared is then confronted by the Lentuse Empire, which boldly announces its intention to invade Sinderth, hoping to secure Jared's alliance. Despite acknowledging Lentuse's overwhelming power, Jared refuses to commit, intending to use the conflict as a way to keep both sides in check, while also plotting his own growth by taking control of abandoned territories. The Lentuse Empire, while initially dismissive, are aware of Jared's reputation and potential.
