Synopsis

The chapter opens with the protagonist in a past version of the Thanatos church, which is populated by incredibly fanatical and power-hungry priests. He witnesses a display of the church's brutal nature, including the mistreatment of common people. He decides to observe the power structure of the church and decides to impersonate a priest to blend in, using his powers to disguise himself to try and understand their motives and figure out how to move forward. He notes their power stems from death and they utilize it in a twisted way, making him rethink his perception of the Thanatos church.
