Synopsis

The old soul, initially dismissive of a soul hunting method, is challenged by an unseen opponent to try it. This leads to him revealing his past as an Emperor-level cultivator who failed to reach the Supreme stage, before admitting he now resides inside the body of the protagonist, which he claims to be protecting since he is the protagonist's apprentice. He is now directly addressing the unseen enemy and asks questions about his strength.
