Synopsis

This chapter delves into the past, explaining that Baron Ruge's family was falsely accused of treason and exterminated. It then shifts focus to the Visenna clan, specifically Shakris Visenna, who, despite being the Duke's firstborn, could never inherit due to Eustia's immortality. The chapter highlights how the Imperial family and Temple, despite being traditionally hostile to each other, united to punish the Visenna, resulting in the death of both of the Duke's sons. This causes the protagonist to reflect on her own position and she vows to break their collusion to protect others.
