Synopsis

The chapter begins with the group using a blood compass to pinpoint a vampire lineage leading to the Destroyers. They then infiltrate the city, splitting up to minimize detection due to a life-force detection spell. Inside, they encounter a city on high alert due to the actions of an assassin Jing Ke, and a high-ranking vampire official. After initially discovering that a team member was potentially captured, the team learns that instead it was the assassin Jing Ke who had been captured, setting the stage for the next move.
