Synopsis

The chapter begins with a crisis as a disease is ravaging the barbarians, and then shifts to the Baskerville clan, revealing their history of moving to the borderlands after the patriarch's daughter was kidnapped. It introduces Pomerian, a girl with the middle name 'La' linked to the Baskerville's female direct lineage, who is actually the patriarch's granddaughter and half-barbarian. A man, implied to be her uncle, recognizes her, and decides he must raise her away from Hugo Baskerville's reach.
