Synopsis

After the tutorial, characters encounter a 'helper group' from the Valkyrie Clan who explain that they're meant to assist new arrivals in adapting to the dangerous 'Red Zone'. The chapter reveals a massive, world-tree eating fish as one of the 'five calamities' that is a significant danger. One of the new arrivals, seemingly the main character, witnesses the fish devour an entire root and decides to pursue it, despite others' caution, after making sure the tutorial grads are off the ship. The character plans to destroy the ship, and head to where the others likely are to continue their plan to go up the tree before the fish can return and eat another root.
