This chapter establishes the setting where monsters and dungeons are sources of valuable magic stones, leading to the existence of Hunters. Zephyr, initially a miner burdened by debt, is about to sell his organs but instead joins a reconnaissance team led by Goethe. Zephyr surprises everyone by showcasing deep knowledge of monster behavior and dungeon exploration and secretly clears the dungeon alone but doesn't take full credit. At the end of the chapter, the team encounters a very strong monster.
