Synopsis

Logan McLain visits the Earth Magic Tower, initially seeking destructive magic scrolls for construction. He capitalizes on the Tower Master's financial woes and his conflict with a powerful elder mage, who is having his disciples unfairly pushed into hard labor. Logan negotiates a contract for a large number of scrolls and, upon finding out the tower is short on high-level mages for scroll creation, accepts a deal to have several lower-circle mages specialized in construction work for him instead of buying the scrolls outright. The chapter concludes with introductions to the mages sent to McLain, while the Tower Master celebrates having a "pushover" customer.
