Synopsis

The chapter opens with Deokgoo badly injured, possibly dying, and his memories flash back to his early interactions and promises with Kiyoung. Kiyoung reflects on Deokgoo's loyalty and their past, and decides that he will do whatever it takes to help Deokgoo improve, even if it means using forbidden methods like viewing a past life. The chapter culminates with Kiyoung resolving to strengthen Deokgoo by any means necessary, using external powers and his 'meat shield.'
