Synopsis

The chapter begins with Ilya's father interrogating the protagonist due to their perceived closeness, before a misunderstanding leads to a challenge to a duel. The protagonist is then given a conditional opportunity to join the secret "Purification Squad," requiring him to earn acknowledgment from a legendary swordmaster. He grapples with his feelings about seeking validation, as he is only doing this to gain recognition which he previously sought from another. Finally, the protagonist is encouraged by his daughter, leading him to focus on the new challenge.
