Synopsis

The chapter opens with the Lord physically struggling with the weight of something, leading to a confrontation with his corrupt financier regarding unpaid taxes and the attempted assassination. The Lord initially threatens death but allows the financier to live in exchange for lowering taxes, returning stolen funds, and a display of public repentance. Despite appearing magnanimous, the Lord demonstrates that his mercy is rooted in manipulation rather than genuine forgiveness by seizing the financier's home and subtly threatening him again.
