Synopsis

The Lord unexpectedly visits the government building, surprising his officials. He immediately demands a rollback of the current high tax rates to those of his father's time, citing the suffering of the people and accusing the financier of not being honest. The financier deflects, emphasizing the Lord's memory loss while asserting his own loyalty. Despite some support for the Lord’s position from Sir Noas, the chapter concludes with the financier still refusing to concede and planning to maintain the current system.
