Synopsis

Guard Goh Chan's soul, tethered to the world by the protagonist's death qi, returns as a familiar spirit, but his energy is too weak. To prevent his disappearance, Goh Chan is transferred into the body of a recently deceased assassin. We learn that Goh Chan was motivated by a desire to protect the protagonist, who was the only person to not abandon him. The chapter ends with the assassin's body being possessed and the reveal that the possessed assassin has eaten someone, which is an unexpected turn of events.
