Synopsis

The chapter opens with Daive, the deceased Count's brother, attempting to establish his succession and dismiss his sister-in-law, Rien. Rien, who was previously ignored, stands up to Daive's power grab, challenging his methods and revealing his cult beliefs. The chapter escalates when Daive tries to dismiss the Count's knights, however they ultimately side with Rien. The conflict culminates in violence as Daive, claiming insult, has the ex-knights killed, seemingly by Rien's newly arrived bodyguard, setting the stage for a power struggle.
