Synopsis

The chapter shows the protagonist preparing for a trip to the rift to earn money for weapons and future family expenses. He reflects on the strength of his future wife's family, especially her brother who has been skipping him in challenges, and decides he will let him "off the hook" for now. He plans to duel all other rankers as a warm-up and is also reminded of his past feelings for his teacher which may influence his present feelings. Finally, he decides to go easy on his future brother-in-law when they inevitably meet.
