Synopsis

The chapter opens with new students discovering the presence of heat-detecting walking suits of armor and a senior who explains they are the headmaster's summons and how they can be tricked with heat-producing illusions. The senior reveals their hiding spot in a classroom, covered by an illusion, and their purpose of going to the kitchen is not food, but to retrieve a hidden chemical reagent. The new students, realizing their initial attempts at direct combat would have been futile, begin to understand the school's dangers.
