Synopsis

The chapter opens with a dangerous encounter with a newly hatched black scaled dragon. Xiao Xi, a child with the power to control rune beasts, manages the dragon briefly before it is defeated, revealing the dragon's weakness lies in its rune. Dong Ze is confronted by Jia Wenlong, a local mob boss, who is after the rune beast eggs. Zhao Wude steps in to defend Dong Ze, but also cautions him about the political implications of his actions. Ultimately, Zhao takes the remaining rune beast egg for safekeeping and warns Dong Ze of the dangers he faces, especially from another group of powerful rune warriors.
