Synopsis

Following Erina's death, Alfeas is wracked with grief and self-blame, seeing his attempts to change her as a mistake. He disregards the value of the research she died for and is criticized for abandoning his responsibilities as an archmage. Others within the community feel his actions were selfish, that he disregarded her sacrifice for the research, and it was not how a mage should act. The chapter also hints at Erina's unique purity and insights on human emotions before her passing.
