Later, a nobleman, Sir Cruel, offers Deon sponsorship, recognizing his potential as a powerful sword and his desire for vengeance, while it is clear Deon's perceived loyalty to the Emperor isn't the only reason he is being targeted. Afterward, Deon's home is attacked by the Revolutionary Army, revealing their continued desperation to eliminate him.
