Synopsis

The chapter opens with the Prince having a good time eating beef and drinking, then transitions to a more serious tone when it's revealed the king went on a disguised walk and is now being criticized for it. The chapter also touches upon the dire economic situation where the common folk are struggling, and they are forced to eat bark and roots. The prince has been attacked for going out to eat, though his supporters defend him.
