Synopsis

The chapter opens with the King of Joseon, furious at the Jurchens, declaring war and appointing Second State Councilor Heo Chim as general and Grand Prince Jinseong as lieutenant general. As the army mobilizes, a group of officials within the court discuss the king's rash decision, suspecting a revolt led by Excellency Park Won-jong against a King they deem irrational. They ponder the implications of this war that seems unauthorized and worry about the loyalties of their people. Amidst all this, troop gathering is underway and a suspicious boy is captured.
