Synopsis

The chapter begins with the prince seeking advice on proper behavior regarding physical contact with royalty, establishing a context of courtly etiquette. A man arrives, claiming familial ties to the prince's mother, stating that his father is being abused by a landowner and that he is there to help. After some back and forth, the prince physically attacks the man in anger and then summons the general inspector for drinks, seeking camaraderie and perhaps using the alcohol as a means to talk about the altercation earlier in the day.
