Synopsis

The chapter opens with a tutorial on how to kill a Ghoul, specifically targeting its head. The main character is then assigned to the Reconnaissance Team, learns about their responsibilities, and receives a quest to patrol the area outside the fortress. He is paired with an old rival, and they immediately encounter a Veritas Ghoul, which triggers a battle and transformation. The chapter also introduces the team's hierarchy and some of the other members, establishing a sense of structure and the dangers they'll face.
