Synopsis

The chapter revolves around a tense confrontation between Archduke Ardan and Baron Kargas, who is accused of breaking his vassal contract and other offenses. Kargas attempts to leverage the Duke's Law and the power of the Senate to avoid punishment, trying to form an alliance with the Duke's family, but Archduke Ardan ignores this play and is determined to execute the entire Kargas family for their transgressions, even after an unexpected act of mercy by someone on the scene.
