Synopsis

Mariette and Corin have a somewhat awkward but romantic dance where she stands on his feet, which others find enchanting. They later search Duke Sebancia’s office for clues, and learn that the Duke’s soul is sealed within a grimoire, separated from his body. Mariette demonstrates her growing influence as she is greeted by Count Cassius, accompanied by other important families in the South, showing the impact of her actions and position. The chapter concludes with multiple noblemen requesting a dance from Mariette before she settles on Corin.
